Whilst the early Atlanteans weren't strangers to horses, the later generations rarely ever met a Horse outside of seeing a Dominate upon one. This changed in the Rebirth era of Atlantis, under King Kastor, with new claims in former colonies, the Atlanteans once again had access to horses, importing them in from places such as Egypt, Greece and the Norselands. With these creatures returned as standard once again, the Atlantean military began re-organizing, introducing cavalry units such as the Turma, and Contarius, one such new unit was the Cursarius. Unlike their former colonies even the poorest Atlantean farmers could own Horses, typically imported from Iberia or North Africa, these farmers were organised into the Cursarii, typically used as light cavalry or as scouts. The Cursarii utilized great wings of Orichalkos or Iron as a tribute to the Caladrias that inspired and healed them, and their fellow soldiers.

As time went on, and Atlantis had faded away -- being conquered by the Romans, among other peoples. The Romans adapted many of the Atlantean military units in their reforms throughout their existence, including the Cursarius which eventually evolved into the Chonsarioi, and eventually the Hussars used by the Polish and Hungarians.
